About Me
I've lived a few lives over the years. Now I'm living off the beaten path in my husband, Fabrizio's homeland in the Italian Alps of Piedmont. We met in a small village in Tuscany where I was working as a chef for an English art school and he as a Maitre'd in an Agriturismo. We eventually decided to return to his home, where his family had built and operated a mountain restaurant, "La Baita", for about 30 years before retiring. We arrived and took over the rooms and began our journey as a small inn, which we named "Bella Baita B&B". La Baita, is a rustic mountain house, so we became a beautiful mountain house. We have taken his parents dream and are working on making it our own. We created an association, TEM (Touristic Ecosostenible Montano) to promote responsible ecological tourism and support and preserve mountain culture and cuisine. The banner is our view from our balcony and my blog is about my perspective and what there is to do, see and eat. Together we are finding our way to encourage responsible and sustainable tourism in our little noticed but deserving slice of Italy. We offer custom Cooking Together sessions, of which one of most popular ones is our "Market to Plate". We also organize small group culinary tours to help our guests discover all the hidden gems our area has to offer. My former lives have included but not limited to: ski resort Pastry chef, English holiday rep, walking and ski guide, gardener and vegetarian caterer.
