Dreamy Chocolate Easter Eggs

I sure hope the Easter Bunny finds his way here with one of these!

It's that time of the year again where not only are the spring flowers and buds starting to spring up, but  Italy has been hit and blanketed by a tidal wave of chocolate eggs of every persuasion. This area is known for its chocolate and this time of year chocolatiers are still hard at it. The eggs you find here are quite an art form and almost a shame to eat.
But most people manage to soldier on...

It really is quite a sight.

Almost to beautiful to eat.....
well almost...
Then we have the colorful wrapped ones. They come in every size with trinkets for all, to amuse for a day or two till they fade into another memory of an Easter egg treasure from yet another year.

The eggs are truly amazing. Such works of art :-).. You would have to think twice or maybe three times before cracking them to eat !!

I don't think we have much like that in the UK, maybe in the big cities ..

They are passionate about chocolate eggs here in Italy. I got one this morning as a gift with my shopping. What a pleasant surprise.

These remind me so much of the chocolate eggs we used to get as kids from a local candy and nut shop. They no longer make the eggs which is a real shame even if they are not as beautiful as the ones you show here.

We had one of those too, Val. I used to stand in front of it longingly just to smell the aroma of the chocolate. I first came to love chocolate caramel pecan turtles that they made and it still remains one of my all time favorite combinations.
Me too Lori Lyn, thanks for stopping by.
