Carnevale Window Peeping

Friday, I had a chance to go into Torino for the afternoon and like a kid I found myself drawn to the window displays, in particular, the pastry shops. I don't know if its because the window displays here in Europe are so classy and elaborate and because I was and still am a small town kid that big city window displays still hold a huge fascination for me. Anyway, I enjoyed wandering around Torino, taking them all in, with the pastry shops putting on their best Carnevale face. I hope to make some carnival pastries later this week, but until then. Have a look at the local fare in the big city window displays of Torino.

And that is why it is a good thing that I'm not living in the city. I would come home with so many bags of goodies....bad enough when we go to sagras and I can't ever leave w/o a few goodies!

Oh wow! Look at all the wonderful pastries! Thank you, Marla.
The sweets that look savory are so neat! This is why I like visiting your blog.

Hello all, our server went missing yesterday and sent everyones email to me to the spam file...go figure!
Just for the Record..I'm in Italy, Spain is another trip, and Rowena i would like to have a good look in your shopping bag at all of your purchases from your many sagras pilgrimages! Sounds very tempting indeed.
Maryann, I had another photo that showed the white chocolate gnocchi and tortellini a bit more, but the overall photo wasn't as good, perhaps I'll pot it too flickr. I was fascinated by the swiss cheese looking pastry and all of the other things in the window...

Grazie, Torino is a great overlooked city and they do go all out with their window displays here, which I love.
